It is easy to focus on how people divide along tribal and religious lines, but there are many people who do not allow these differences to prevent them from seeing humanity in others.
One of them is the imam of the village of Nghar Yelwa, in the Plateau state, which on Sunday saved 262 Christians from the Fulani pastors.
The pastors had attacked 3 local state governments that killed more than 100 people, including Barkin Ladi, from whom the people had fled.
Sharing his story with BBC Pidgin, Imam said he first took the women, at 60 in his home and the men in the mosque to hide.
The pastors approached him later, shared it and ordered him to renounce the Christians. But he lied and said that all the people who accompanied him were Muslims.
It is very refreshing, since some of us do not let ideologies, religion and tribes separate us. Very stimulating
