We fully support petroleum hub project – Jomoro residents

Mark Asmah Arthur, the spokesperson for the Jomoro Development Agenda in Support of the Petroleum Hub project has dispelled reports that the people in the area do not support the implementation of the project

Asmah Arthur said the people of Jomoro know the enormous benefits that come with a project of this kind; spanning from changing our agrarian local economy to a more robust, civilized and commerce-driven economy that will positively affect the livelihood of every individual in our municipality.

In a statement on Monday (1 July), the group said, “We want to state that we have not been short-changed or mistreated by the government, any individual or group mandated to deal with Nananom, opinion leaders and people of the Jomoro area as far as this project is concerned.”

The planned 20,000-acre petroleum hub is expected to be a game changer for the Ghanaian economy, generating an estimated US$1.56 billion in export tax by 2030, boosting GDP by 70%, and creating over 780,000 jobs.
